Teaching Young Children The Very First Skills Of Rugby

Happy New Year everyone!

I started writing this blog on Saturday and, to begin with, the focus was on what we have achieved this year with some description about the expansion of Rugby Nippers throughout Perthshire. However, I thought better of it because actually, with this first post of 2018, I just want to say thank you!

Rugby Nippers started because I genuinely just wanted to get more children playing rugby, at a younger age and developing a love for the sport just like I did as a boy. I saw how much my boys loved playing sport (albeit not when Daddy is teaching it 😉 ) and I knew there must be many other children out there who would benefit from a structured class aimed at 2 – 5 year olds. It was a risk but I have loved every minute of it. I never imagined that I would take such an enormous amount of satisfaction from watching our nippers increase their skill level and confidence at the same time as having a huge amount of fun. In addition to this it has been fantastic to meet the Mummies and Daddies and watch you getting as involved as you have.

So Marie and I just want to say a big THANK YOU to you all! Rugby Nippers is a local, Scottish business and it could not survive without the support of the parents and nippers (including those that have been on our waiting lists for months now, thank you and we’ll get you in soon).

2018 sees us expanding even further into Auchterarder, another class in Perth and after school classes so it is onwards and upwards! Again, a huge thank you and here is to a fantastic, rugby filled 2018!

Happy New Year from James and Marie.
